Skellig & Dingle Adventure By Helicopter Featuring VII & VIII Locations
In 2015, Lucasfilm returned to Ireland to shoot scenes for VIII on Skellig island. In 2016 they came back for a third time, to film at cliff edge locations on Irelands mainland.
In the 8th Century, Skellig Michael & the Dingle Peninsula on Irelands mainland, were chosen by a small group of monks who, in their pursuit of greater union with God, withdrew from civilisation to Irelands remote and beautiful Atlantic west coast. Therefore, it is hardly surprising Lucasfilm chose the area as the location for the Jedi Temple on Ahch-To.
On this extended tour, we take you on a private guided aerial adventure over Skellig Michael in our twin engine executive helicopters. After the aerial tour of the island, we fly north to the Dingle Peninsula on the Irish mainland. Here we take an aerial tour of Sybil Head, the location of the Jedi Temple set that Lucasfilm constructed on the cliff edge, high above the wild Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards, we fly to Dunmore Head to take in the staggering sea views & another film location from VIII.
After take-off we fly to Dingle village for a walking tour to the movies cast & crew liked to eat & drink during the making of VIII. The adventure to explore the movies film locations lasts about 4 hours, including about 70 minutes flying time. Seeing Skellig island & the Dingle Peninsula is a once in a lifetime experience, guided by the Irish team who worked on VII & VIII.
